Evidence-based Training

Evidence-based Training (EBT), as endorsed by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) and many regulatory bodies, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), arose from an industry-wide consensus that in order to reduce the airline accident rate, a strategic review of recurrent and type-rating training for airline pilots was necessary.

The concepts are now being adopted by national regulators, being implemented by airlines and flowing into the helicopter world. Baseline EBT programs are significantly enhanced by incorporation of data from a rigorous LOSA process.
